NEW NXP/FREESCALE i.MX PROCESSORS FOR THE IRIS BOX PC INDUSTRIAL EMBEDDED PC SERIES

The family of IRIS BOX PC industrial computers based on ARM arquitecture with embedded I/Os has recently launched a new set of NXP/Freescale i.MX_ based versions as an alternative to the existing NXP/Freescale Vybrid and NVIDIA Tegra series. Availability is from January the 1st 2.018 on for i.MXULL, i.MX6 and i.MX7, being expected to launch the i.MX8 based unit within January 2.018.

 There are solo and dual processor versions. Main processor is Cortex™-A7 or Cortex™-A9 while dual versions includes and additional Cortex™-M4, with clock speeds ranging from 528 MHz up to 1.2 GHz for the main processors and 200 MHz for the additional M4.

RAM DDR memory is available from 256 MB (i.MXULL) up to 2GB RAM (i.MX8) while FLASH memory swings from 128 MB NAND up to 4 GB eMMC

The i.MXULL and the future i.MX8 versions both embed Dual Band 802.11 a/s Wi-Fi as well as 4.2/BLE Bluetooth.

ISURKI’s list of preinstalled and supported operative systems include Linux Embedded, Ubuntu and Windows Embedded Compact 7.0.

Other options supported by third parties are Windows Embedded Compact 2.013, QNX, Android and FreeRTOS.
